You cannot tell from the face.

You cannot tell from the face.

Every panel looks the same until somebody cuts it.

So look at the edge.

The edge cannot lie about what is inside.

Layers. Glue lines. Real thickness.

Three things the face will never show you.

Eighteen millimetres should measure eighteen.

Ours does. Bring a caliper and check it yourself.

Panel supply since 1998.

Nineteen lines on the rack in Piliyandala. Walk in and inspect any of them before you pay.

Since 1998

28 years of learning which mills hold their thickness.

Greenply Agencies has supplied panels from Piliyandala since 1998. In that time we have learned which mills keep a sheet at its stated thickness, which ones let the core go hollow, and which glue lines give up after one wet season.

That knowledge is the whole business. We buy on the edge and we stack on the edge, and every sheet sits on an open rack where you can look down it yourself.

Carpenters, contractors, designers and walk in customers all buy from the same rack. We share our Piliyandala office with Newply (Pvt) Ltd.

Check the edge.

Press and hold. This is the check to run on any sheet, at our counter or anyone else's, before money changes hands.

Press and hold this button, or hold the space bar while it is focused, to run through the four edge checks one at a time.

  1. Count the plies

Fewer, thicker plies bend where you do not want them to. More plies of even thickness hold their shape under load.

  2. Look for gaps in the core

A void shows as a dark break in a layer that should run unbroken from one side to the other. A gap you cannot see is a gap your screw will find.

  3. Read the glue lines

They should be thin, even and continuous across the whole width. Thick or broken lines are the ones that let go after a wet season.

  4. Measure it

Eighteen should measure eighteen, not seventeen and a half. Put a caliper on it rather than trusting the label.

That is the check. Run it on any sheet on our rack, before you pay.

Why buy here

Four reasons carpenters keep coming back.

Thickness you can measure

Bring a caliper. We would rather you check than wonder. Every line on the rack is sold at the thickness it says.

Inspect before you pay

Nothing is wrapped and hidden. Pull a sheet off the rack, look down the edge, and decide with your own eyes.

On the rack, not on order

Nineteen lines held in stock. Most orders leave the same day, and nothing we carry takes more than a day.

Island wide delivery

Questions

The things buyers actually ask.

Measure it. Our sheets sit on open racks and you are welcome to put a caliper on any of them before you pay. That is the advantage of buying at a counter instead of from a photograph.
Look down the edge of the sheet. A core gap shows as a dark break in a layer that should run unbroken from one side to the other. Every sheet on our rack can be checked this way, in about ten seconds.
Nineteen lines are held on the rack. Most orders leave the same day, and nothing we carry takes longer than a day. Message us on WhatsApp with the thickness and quantity and we will confirm what is on the floor.
No. Ask for the quantity the job needs, from a single sheet to a full site delivery.
Yes, anywhere in Sri Lanka. Tell us the site and the quantity when you ask for a quote and we will include the delivery.
No. We sell full sheets at 8ft × 4ft, which is 2440 × 1220 millimetres.
Waterproof HMR HDF, held in 10mm, 16mm and 17mm. It is made for moisture, so it suits kitchens, bathrooms and anywhere that gets washed down. For cladding and signage in wet places, the PVC foam board is the other option.
Panel prices move with the market and with the exchange rate. Rather than publish a number that goes stale, we quote on the day you ask. Send the thickness and quantity on WhatsApp and you will have a price back quickly.
